Majority of all poetry is written by Addie W. Williams who died August 29th, 2003. She was retired as an English, Literature and Writing Professor. Her hopes and dreams were to one day have her poetry, short stories and her other dedicated works be shared and possibly published, which I, her daughter and with my husband Jim, as her editors will attempt to do in her honor. I do so hope the readers
Background
Information
My name is Katie Fairchild, better known on the Internet as Yngathrrt. The majority of all these words and works are not of my own, but of my beloved mother, Addie W. Williams, who died in August 2003. She was 78 years old. She retired as a Professional English, Writing and Literature teacher from JDJC, a small college in Brewton, Alabama. After she retired, she began her journey of being able to at last write her thoughts, which she (per her own personal journal and tapes) always wanted to share. She wrote well over 3,000 poems from 1977 until 1990. Many numerous short stories, essays, journals, etc., were also written as well. Her greatest wish was to have her poems and works shared and published, and my husband and I promised her that we would try to do that for her. She would be very proud and happy that others read and appreciate her works, her words, her poetry and prose and her thoughts.
Readers need to keep in mind that she often made up her own words (not found in dictionaries) in her poetic writings. And her poetry reflects what she was feeling or thinking at her certain time and mood. Her poetry and works could be different each day she wrote them, and if you are a poet, I am sure you understand. Thank you for your time in reading her poetry and prose and other writtings. And for her, I appreciate this also, as she has given to me the things and thoughts to write about, and if you read her lines, you will find the same. Enjoy her words and works. She would have been proud that her heart felt words reached and touched so many.
This biography is evident of Addie Williams~My poems only come from her inspirations and from what I am told, many write from what she wanted to relay. Catch the spirit and carry on with her words and thoughts.
Accomplishments
If at this moment-
There could be granted
My most passionate wish,
What would it be?
Love? Wealth, health?
No.
It would be
To know I was confirmed -
Acknowledged as worthy
In the human chain.
Because of having deserved it -
To have lived -
Yet to be -
And
To die with the honor
Because
I earned it.

Additional Information
Many of my mothers poems, poetry, and other works, are very thought provoking and deep. There is a down side to many of her poems to me, as she used many words that I had to look up, as I had never heard them before. My vocabulary has really improved at least. Her works though, will give you a inside look at to who she was, what she was feeling, thinking, and questioning in general, or on that particular day and moment. They are like a microscope into her soul.
