I have always loved to write but it took retirement to find the time to put my ideas into print!

I was born to Welsh parents and music and singing have been a big part of my life. I have travelled widely as I married a scientist; we have lived in Malaysia, Australia and Canada during our long marriage and brought up four children.I have a strong personal faith and get involved in the Anglican Church wherever I go! I've taught Sunday School and played the organ over the years. My husband and I enjoy classical music, reading and travelling when we can. I also love history and enjoy genealogy, discovering my family's early life in England .A major influence in my life was my hard working mother who encouraged me to further my education. She had a saying,"If you educate a girl, you educate a family." I believe that is true.

Many years ago I received an Honours B.A. from the University of Southampton,England. Later,I obtained a B.Ed. in Ontario and finished part of an MEd. Bringing up children stopped me completing it. I spent 28 years teaching and loved it.
My favourite reward is to meet students, I've taught and discover how they are contributing to a better life for others.
I also work as a volunteer with the Hospice of Windsor and received a "Companion on the Journey" award in 2001.

Since retirment, I have produced five books, mainly for children. The idea was to write about places I knew well and had visited with my own children .As we live in Essex county, the far south of Ontario and only an hour from Detroit, my stories are set here. I have two picture books out about a local fair and a tropical greenhouse. I've also written a novel for early readers about Christmas and one about our famous Jack Miner who started life in Ohio in 1868 and came to Canada as a young boy. By 1904 he found a way of attracting the Canada Geese to his pond. He began the earliest records of tracking the geese' flight patterns. I imagined a new immigrant Mei Ling discovering Jack Miner and the sanctuary, he started which is nearly 100 years old. Each year thousands of lesser Canada geese pass through en route from the Arctic.
I love music and support our local Windsor Symphony so I wrote a book about the musicians in the orchestra. At present I'm writing a historical novel of one town, Amherstburg which was a lst stop on the Underground Railway from1830's onwards. My story is about the friendship of two boys caught up in the events of 1845-50.
I also write the guides for the Windsor Symphony Education Concerts: this has made me more knowledgeable about many composers. My picture books (in rhythmic verse) are called: If I could Go to the Harrow Fair and Let's go to Colasanti's
The novels are Mei Ling discovers Jack Miner and A Cookie for the Christ Child. I enjoy writing daily!
I also write the annual educational guide to Windsor Symphony's Schools Concert and I have written articles based on my work with the Hospice of Windsor. For adults, I record and write up people's life stories.
