C Hottran was born 1975 in Kristiansund, a town on the northwest coast of Norway. She was raised by her grandmother till the age of 9 and then in 1984 she reunited with her mother in Oslo. In 1988 C and her family immigrated to the United States of America. But her family wasn't granted permanent residence status to stay, so they returned to Norway only one year later.
