Born and raised in Pasadena, California, the first hints of Brad Viking's life as a writer emerged while attending the University of California, Santa Barbara. A subsequent stint in the Navy catalyzed his love of the written word. Well-traveled, the author has toured Brazil numerous times and studied the Portuguese language. Major writing influences include Lawrence Durrell (especially Justine of the Alexandria Quartet), Allen Ginsberg, Tennessee Williams, and Albert Camus.
