The biggest influence on my writing at the moment is my Christian faith. However, I have been writing since I was a child. I can't remember a time when I didn't want to write. In primary school, in started with rhyming poetry, and Roald Dahl was a major influence on me. Another one of my lifelong loves is history. And so writing was a good way to explore what life was like in another time. I'm not sure that I have any authors that really influenced the way I wrote about history though. more...
