I have always been attracted to symbolic, ambiguous writing that allows the reader to impose their own life to create meaning. My favourite authors include my old friend Daniel Stone, Edgar Allan Poe, Ray Bradbury, Arthur C. Clarke, Susanna Kaysen, Mark Twain for his musings, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Aldous Huxley, Douglas Adams and so on and so forth... Roald Dahl was my surrogate parent as a child and his wisdom affects me still. I am also influenced by Elliott Smith...
