I chose a career in Science after failing medical school admissions, and never gained successful employment as a scientist-one of the prerequisites for my choice of profession was the availability of employument and income for technical professionals. After graduation and without gaining employment became welfare supported, then homeless in the Washington DC/Baltimore area. I then traveled on foot most of the eastern states, California and Mexico.
