In 2004, she met best-selling author, Nicholas Sparks, who inspired her to write her own novel. In 2005, while living in a small apartment in Fullerton, California, Jennifer's cable and internet was shut off due to her dire financial situation. As fate would have it, this was when she got the idea to sit down at her computer and start writing a book. Thus, she began working on her first novel entitled, Gunning Down Romance.
