I have read extensively since childhood. Initially an escape, it became a pleasure and almost an obsession, in the way that sport is for many men.
I began to write somewhere in the 1960s, some manuscripts from those days still gather dust in the attic. I have kept every rejection slip accumulated over the years, and there are many of them, as a sort of history of my attempts to become a published author.
