Adie Bishop was born April Coleman in Raleigh County, West Virginia. Born weighing only one pound, eleven ounces, Adie is one of the last of her generation to have been diagnosed with retrolental fibroplasias (ROP, retinopathy of prematurity), and due to such had her right eye enucleated at one and a half years of age.
