Having come of age in the Sixties, I was greatly influenced by the events of that turbulent era. Major literary influences include: Jack Kerouac, Thomas Wolfe ("You Can't Go Home Again"), Henry Miller, Joseph Conrad, Frederick Prokosch, and Mark Twain. I'm the author of three expatriate novels, an ESL novella/textbook, and several articles on teaching English in Japan.
