As an author, I tend toward works of fantasy. My chief influences in this field are, of course, J.R.R. Tolkien (whose "Hobbit" and "Lord of the Rings" series first inspired me to write at age 13) and Robert E. Howard (whose darker, grittier fantasy most affects my current work). Some other key influences would be George R.R. Martin, David Gemmell and Lloyd Alexander. I am currently wrapping up the "Dark Sands" 'trilogy, which I began, more or less, back in 1994.
