My inspiration is Toni Morrison, who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1993. In her works she explores the experience of Black women in racist culture. She has memberships with the National Council on the Arts and the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters. Morrison has actively used her influence to defend the role of the artist and encouraged the publication of other Black writers. I hope to have a simimilar impact on the literary community. more...
