My major influences are my mother, who taught me how to read at the age of three; my third grade teacher, Mrs. Symonds, who encouraged me to write creatively and to whom my first novice poetry book is dedicated; and all the writers who demand that editors seek beneath the footsteps of their commas the lice of their thoughts in the head of their style.
