Prior to the death of my mother in 2005, I took her to every book signing, regardless where it was. She accompanied me to Dublin, Ireland where I signed 1000 copies in one week. She loved to tell everyone about my first 'book deal', which, according to her (she was known to stretch the truth when it came to praising her one-and-only) occured when I was six-years-old.
