Scott asks God about the purpose of Religion

Why Religion?

Scott, religion and religious organizations have been created as long as mankind has been in existence. It is man’s way of reaching out to God and connecting with the divine. God does not create religion, man does. God allows all religions as they all have a service to fulfill.

Many ask me, “What religion should I join or belong to?” I say that it does not matter. What matters is that you and I get to know each other better. If religion or a religious organization helps and abets you in this quest, than by all means exercise your option to be a part of that which helps aid in our relationship. If, on the other hand, if joining a religion or religious organization does not serve this purpose, than by all means, exercise your options to not become a part of the religion or organization.

All religions are man-made and not necessarily inspired by the divine. Many are, and serve the purpose of bringing mankind into a remembrance of the divine. Religion itself is neutral and is not necessary when it comes to you and me. What the divine wants is that you be connected to your spirit and soul’s purpose. This is what connects you to me. Everything else that helps serve this purpose is in accordance and acceptable to me.

Is there a religion or religious organization that is better than another? Yes and No. It depends on whether it serves your needs. Only you can make this decision. Is there a religion that is better than another? Yes, and No. Only you can determine this my child. Listen to your inward being, that which is the highest part of you…that which is always connected to me and you will know. Is it necessary? Only if you feel that it is, my child.

Have you noticed my beloved that you can have church or synagogue or whatever you want to refer to it to…all the time? It does not have to be on a Sunday, or the Sabbath, or any other day to be a time when you and I meet and get to know one another. You can be connected to the divine at any time. It does not take a special place or building and can be without any of the trappings of man.

Is there only one way to find me? Of course not my beloved child. I can be found anywhere and everywhere. Spirit, you see, has no boundaries or conditions to follow. Spirit is the most natural way that I can be found. I created each and every one of you with this capacity to find Spirit. It is inside of you…never from without…or away from you…only within. Jesus said, “The kingdom of God is within you”. Believe this. If this is so, it does not take a religion, a special place, a special day, or anything else to connect us. You connect with the divine from within. This is the way it has always been and will continue to remain. There are no other conditions, principles, or the like to follow.

All you have to do is listen to the still, small, voice of Spirit and you are having church or fellowship with me. Because, you are social in nature, it is always an advantage to join with others that are like-minded so that you can build up and edify each other in the faith. This is one advantage of a religious organization or a church. Just remember, this is not necessary though. Some will argue and say it is mandatory, but it is not. It is always a choice you make. Where some have gotten side-tracked is when they say their religion is the only one and unless you join us you are dammed or judged by God. This is so not true my child. Religion has always been on an individual basis. One is not necessarily better than another although, they would argue with this.

One will say this is the way to worship, or this way is better, or if you don’t do this, God will banish you from his presence. Why do they do this? Because they have a financial investment in keeping the religion going. They feel that if they do not lay down the law, so to speak on you, that no one would really join. If no one were to join, there would be no money flow into the organization. This is human nature, my child, not to be confused with my love for you and my unconditional acceptance of you!

Would you join a religious organization that would take you out of connection with the divine purposely? No. People join because they feel they will be benefited by the experience. This too is fine as long as it serves them. If it ceases to serve them than they should make arrangements to implement other options that do serve them. Some of my children have tried religion and it does not serve their purposes or mission any more. This too, is fine as long as they are happy with their decision and it serves their souls purpose and intent.

Others feel it is the only option that they have, and this is not true . The main thing one should consider is this…does it help in connecting you to me? Does the religion or organization cause others to withdraw from me and our relationship? Then run, don’t walk my child. If it hurts you and I and our relationship…run, don’t walk. Act like there is a fire in the church and get out of there as fast as you can.

God only wants your best, and if the religion does not want your best, or rather starts to take my place and becomes your idol, then, run, my child, run. If it fosters our relationship and helps you to draw closer to me and aids in this behalf…you are free to be a part of it. If it quits serving your needs, then it is time to re-think your options. Have you noticed that God, the divine, does not put any restrictions on you like man made religion would? The only thing that matters, my child, is how you and I are doing. Everything else, is just icing on the cake.

Never condemn a religion or religious practice because of your opinion of it. Allow it, even as I allow you the freedom to love your creator as you see fit. It is not whether you are in a religion, or not that is important…What is important is that there is an inward connection with me…a relationship….everything else is extra and not always necessary.

I love you my beloved,
