This is a story about a man's journey -
Johnnie Calloway was defined up until his 30's by his fear, drug use, and alchohol. After that, his triumph occurred over the trials of his life and with the experiences he writes in this book.
We tend to blame the bad things in our lives on others - Because of this person, I couldn't do this...Because of her I never had this...I hate that I cannot be.....We hate because we fear - what we don't understand we try to stop...
Then, you come to a point where you must stop yelling and blaming and look around and be still and hear the crystal clear Voice of God...
Calloway says to listen to the voice that tells you that we are all the same - To bring in the Light and conquer the 'dragons' that hold you back, make you fear, make you hate, make you self-destruct.
Calloway eloquently writes poems and sayings to emphasze that we can control ourselves by overcoming our 'dragons' and a peaceful life can proceed.
It is a powerful story of self discovery.
While Calloway uses the term 'dragons', one cold also substitute demons, fears, predudices, etc. I would think Calloway used dragons like St. George killing the Dragon - we are St. George and our fears, etc are the dragon to be conquered.
