Dear loyal readers,
I was sitting at home tonight not feeling well, I figured I would write this to my readers to thank you.
It has been a few years since I broke in with poetry, it has only been 5 years since I discovered my passion. At that time I thought that all was lost, and I had no idea what I would do with my life outside of life after college.
I had gone to a technical college in Toronto Canada, and after I had left school I just didn't want to sit in front of a computer every day like I had been. I started writing on a regular basis and discovered my passion, I had no real intentions of making it a professional endeavor at that point.
Time passed on and after I had received my first award with the International Library of Poetry (poetry.com), I knew I had what it took to get where I am now.
Through hard work and dedication I started really improving and ended up being awarded more awards by the International Library of Poetry.
Last year I decided to go for it, and by that I mean an actual publishing contract...and I did. Angelic Verses (ISBN-13#9781424149490) was published in July of 2006. I ended up in the hospital and got yet another great idea, a book of simple appreciation, and stories of the broken down nature of depression. When the light flickers (ISBN13#9781424157242) was born and was released in May of 2007, which I must add is still selling pretty well at buy.com.
Now my third book Letters to Sarah (ISBN-13#9781604412703) was released November of this year (2007).
With all that said I would like to thank all of my readers for being as loyal as you have been and allowing me the chance to make myself a successful author. Without all of you my books would not be as nearly as successful as they have been.
I look forward to seeing Letters to Sarah in print as I have not yet received my authors copies, it actually is the first book I can say that I am proud of.
Anyway the final note I am going to make is, the United Nations needs your help with providing people in third world countries with food, I ask that all of you consider playing the vocabulary game at http://www.freerice.com for every correct answer you donate 10 grains of rice and only 100 grains of rice fills a bowl. Even just one bowl of rice donated is better than nothing.
Thank you all very much I look forward to writing many more books for myself and you the readers.
Sincerely,
Darin Wesley Gosling
