BAH! HUMBUG! That’s what the MINORITY of “Party-Poopers” are saying about this most wonderful, joyous Christmas Holiday Season. They “moan and groan” about how ‘commercialized’ it is - how much ‘hype’ is being thrown at us by the retail establishments.

Then they complain about all the Christmas MUSIC that is being repeated on the airwaves – over, and over, and over! Somehow, for some reason, for usually some time now, they lost their CHRISTMAS SPIRIT.

Some people actually dread this season, and react to it like the doldrums. Usually, it is because of the fact that some Loved one died during or just before Christmas. Guess what! People die all year long! Is that any reason to cancel anything? Would he or she really want you to do so?

GET WITH THE PROGRAM! The true Spirit of Christmas is GIVING of ourselves, in total, uncompromising LOVE! IT is the most important, longest period of the year, when PEACE and JOY permeate the MAJORITY of this wonderful WORLD!

Yes, Virginia, there IS a Santa Claus - Jolly Ole Saint Nick, Kris Kringle, Father Christmas, or whatever other name he is called in various COUNTRIES, all over the Earth!

HE EXISTS! HE IS YOU! HE IS ME! HE IS IN THE HEARTS AND MINDS OF EVERY CHILD THAT WAS EVER BLESSED TO HEAR ABOUT HIM!

Now, that’s the Commercial end of this parsimonious diatribe. Next, let us look at the Religious side, okay? JESUS CHRIST WAS BORN! The NATIVITY SCENE is displayed in just about every church on this Big Blue Marble! THE HOLY FAMILY - what a perfect model to emulate! THEY WERE POOR - HAD NOTHING - BUT LOVE!

The Babe of Bethlehem! How many beautiful songs, hymns, and anthems have been written, recorded, and sung or performed by so many artists? HE DID, IN FACT, EXIST! Whether or not you personally believe HE was, or still is, The Son of GOD, is your choice, and your Business! Whether or not you believe HE was resurrected, is also your personal decision. The concept, or idea, and the freedom to CHOOSE is what is paramount!

One solitary FACT that is UNDENIABLE is that – the entire CALENDAR, and measurement of TIME, for most of Civilization, as we know it, by the MAJORITY of the populace of this planet, is BASED ON HIS BIRTH --- B.C. Before Christ - A.D. – or Anno Domine, the Year of Our Lord. (see insert below).



Definition: The initials A.D. (used with or without periods) is an abbreviation for the Latin "Anno Domine", which translates to "the Year of Our Lord," referring to years after the birth of Jesus Christ. This is the modern calendar that most of the west (in fact, most of the world), uses. Because the term is specific to the Christian religion, however, some scholars prefer to use "C.E." instead, which means "the Common Era."

SO --- whether you choose to be Christian, or COMMON, it does not matter --- TIME, eras, and how we plan our schedules, are all still predicated upon the BIRTH OF CHRIST! ACCEPT IT! EMBRACE IT! IT IS NOW A FACT OF LIFE! MOVE ON!

If you should happen to be of Jewish, or Chinese, or some other ancient persuasion, and still use THAT calendar, IT’S OKAY WITH US! But, don’t ‘bitch and moan’ if you MISS YOUR PLANE, OR TRAIN, OR BOAT, OR SPACE SHUTTLE – OKAY?

Now, M’Dears --- all that was just the Introduction – next comes the Piece De Resistance !

But, before doing that, as I am in the midst of editing this piece, a year later, on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2007, let me just add another thought. I recently watched the first disk of the second season of ROME, an HBO presentation.

I had previously rented and watched the entire first season, earlier this year, and loved it. So I GOOGLED the name of Julius Caesar. Then I selected a link. Once there, I sat and READ the entire chronological historical facts - for about FOUR OR FIVE HOURS! I didn’t even know that Octavian and Caesar Augustus were one and the same person! DUH!

The reign of Tiberius Caesar - the term of service of Pilate - King Herod - the building Revolt of the occupied Jewish people - recorded in Roman history - PEGGED by scholars to be around 32-37 A.D. Coincidence that the Bible Gospels say HE was THIRTY-THREE when His ministry started?

Tinsel on Christmas Trees, how it brightly Glistens!



Crackling Logs, the Fireplace Hisses!
Eggnog flows, as Down it Swishes,
Moms and Nanas rush about, in Tizzies,
As Dads and Gramps ask Sports Quizzes!



Piles of Wrapping paper make Pretty Messes,
As Children shout Oh Boy! and Yes, Yes, Yesses!
Everyone looks Sharp, in New Suits, or Dresses,
As Fancy Coiffures show off Ladies’ Tresses!


How Wonderful and Sweet, are these Holiday Visits,
Utopian, Idyllic, Edenic, full of Karma and Kismets.
LOVE is flowing, as ALL express their Well-Wishes
And I now tell you, my Christmas Wish Is --
