The cradle of Civilization was Mesopotamia. The history of Mesopotamia includes that of the indigenous Sumerians, Akkadians, Assyrians, Babylonians and that of later invaders, such as the Greeks, Parthians, Sassanids, and Arabs. The Mesopotamian history in no period of its glory included Kurds, until most recently (20th century). The Kurds came to the modern region of Iraq from the Zagros mountains in Iran. They are not indigenous to Iraq. However, certian Kurdish writers are trying hard to corrupt the history of Mesopotamia by claiming that they were part of that ancient history and by marginalizing and belittling the history of the indigenous Assyrians.
