12-23-07 Sunday School Lesson - Called To Rejoice With The Shepherds - Luke 2:1-14 (Background Scripture Luke 2:1-20) Promise - "W" Luke 2:10,11 - "W" "W" - WHOSOEVER Will May Be Saved 12-30-07 Sunday School Lesson - Invitiation/Summon To Witness - Luke 2:22-35 (Background Scripture Luke 2:22-38) Key Verse - For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord (Luke 2:11) JESUS CHRIST - Our Saviour Luke 2:1-14 Verses 1, 2, 3 -- Civil & Social Life, Taking the Census Census -- a system/record of the population of a town, city, country, area And it came to pass in those days that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be "taxed." (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of .... Syria) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. "taxes" -- inrolled Question - Food for Thought? Was the world taxed or the Roman Empire? Glory of the Lord -- Shekinah The Shekinah Glory was also in The Tabernacle Luke 2:1-14 Verses 10, 11 -- JESUS CHRIST, Our Saviour And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, "which" shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David "a" Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. "which" -- Luke 2:31,32 -- Jesus Appearance in the Temple Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel. Gentile -- someone who is not a Jewish "a" -- Matthew 1:21 -- Christ's Birth, As Recorded by Matthew And she shall bring forth a son and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Luke 2:1-14 Verse 12 - Christ Visited by the Wise Men & the Shepherds And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manager. Verse 13 -- Duties To God, Praise Due From All, From All in Heaven "And" suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying.
