Have you recently had to make a decision about purchasing a new computer vs fixing your old computer? Do you really want to hassle with the new Vista Operating System? Have you tried the new Vista operating system? If you have answered yes or no, read on.
Recently I received a new laptop computer as a present from my sister. I was in computer heaven, flying high and could not wait to open it up and start typing.
I also have an old e machine tower computer over four years old. I turned on the old computer and guess what it was deader than a door nail. Now I am in a dilemma. Do I spend money on my old computer which is out of warranty, or throw it in the garbage and start fresh with my new laptop?
I decided to use the laptop and toss my other computer. When I made this decision I did not realize or take into consideration the new Vista Operating System which all the new computers come with.
I was a little hesitant about using my laptop as my main computer since I have had several hand surgeries. I was afraid of escalating hand pain. With a large keyboard I can place a pad under the keyboard, it will cushion my hands while I type. It keeps the pain in my hands at low tide. This was new territory.
As it turned out the laptop does cause excessive hand pain but I have solved this problem by attaching my old keyboard and in this way I could use my hand pad once again.
The only other problem I faced was the software problem. When I received this laptop as a gift there was no updated software purchased at that time. $500.00 for the new Microsoft software was over my budget.
I finally found a website which allowed me to purchase a plan with help 365 days a year/24 hours a day to help me connect my 2003 Microsoft Word Software to the new Vista Operating System.
