Activists creating bad rep
Ted C. Soderberg - San Francisco
Banning plastic bags is a good idea, and, like the Styrofoam cup, it should have been done a long time ago.
But the ban is not what irks me. I have a problem with annoying people who want to tell others how to live their lives.
These people were around long before actor/activist Woody Harrelson came to San Francisco and scaled the Golden Gate bridge, holding up traffic and inconveniencing thousands of people.
The tree-hugging, self righteous, so-called friends of nature might be right in the long run, but they are very wrong in the short run.
There is a right way and a wrong way to create public awareness, and when groups wander off into the land of annoyance, their cause is always diminished.
