HAPPY UGADI :
"Hey Banga bhandare tabo bibidha ratan,
Na bujhe (abodh aami) paradhanlobhe matta karinu bhraman..." (Beng.) .... After cosmopolitan Bengali Michael Madhusudhan Dutta
[Figuratively: I was too naive, and a wanderer; I did not know, you Bengal, how great art thou!........]
As I was wodering last night how the kannadigas would greet me this new year I remembered Michael!
How am I better than my (biological) father? Is it just the degree that I had accumulated? Or traveled to Bombay, Delhi, Mysore, Chicago.... bla bla.... I know many Indian authors who donot have degrees like me! I know even more people who had never been outside their own district and yet been very successful! Am I wiser than my father?
Why do I spend the money the way I do? Why do they pay me to spend? Why do I have to do so many things? Why do I have to "learn"? Is it a waste of my life (who cares anyway)?
