Melody Karns Trone creates colorful illustrations based on the actual living stars of Donna Beserra's original books. Her illustrations have given the books an extra special fairy tale appeal.

Melody Karns Trone is an artist who truly gives meaning to the phrase "A picture is worth a thousand words". In fact, Melody's paintings are worth a million words.

In Melody's hand the paintbrush becomes a magic wand, bringing to life the fantasy of Donna Beserra's story, Twirly Shirley In My Sister The Twister. Basing many of her illustrations of the living stars in Donna's original book, Melody has left a trace of reality to the characters, yet given them a majestic appeal.

By emphasizing the facial expressions and enhancing the gestures of Twirly Shirley, Melody has added extra charisma to an already charming character. Melody's use of color is magical. The delicate pinks and vibrant blues add old fashioned, fairy tale charm to the story. An enchanting book has becomae an irresistible adventure.

In Twirly Shirley And The Brother LIke No Other Melody has intensified the drama with her skillful use of Christmas reds and greens. She has meticulously energized the characters. Tiffany's wide, glittering eyes and angelic smile radiate an innocent, joyful spirit. Johnny has an eerie gleam in his eye, and a sinister smirk that reveals his mischievous nature. Yet, we can tell that there is somthing beneath that wicked exterior, something that draws us in, urging us to love the character. One could almost dive right inot the book and become part of the tale.

Reading a Twirly shirley story is like floating right into dreamland. Melody adds extra personality and humor ot the characters, not to mention a slight sense of déjà vu. Does Twirly Shirley remind you of someone you once knew? Do you have a brother like no other? If so, read the book, the words and the pictures.
