Living In The Consciousness Of His Presence is the topic of this article. We saw how the Lord appeared to Jacob in the dream when he ran away from the face of his brother Esau. Jacob woke up from the dream and said "God is in this place and I knew it not".

LIVING IN THE CONSCIOUSNESS OF HIS PRESENCE:

 Last week we tried to look at this same topic, to see the need to live in God's presence. There are several things that happen in the presence of God.

We saw how the Lord appeared to Jacob in the dream when he ran away from the face of his brother Esau. Jacob woke up from the dream and said "God is in this place and I knew it not". After this revelation there was a change in his attitude and he began to do something. Gen. (28:11-22)

 Again when Moses saw the burning bush and God announcing to him that where he was standing was a holy place.( Exd. 3:5) We also noticed that there was a change in Moses attitude immediately.

 When the Armies of Syria came against Elisha to arrest him. We saw that when the servant of the man of God woke up in the morning he shouted with fear "Alas!" But Elisha was calm. Now these are two different and opposite reaction. The different reactions were as a result of the knowledge and level of their consciousness. (2Kings 6:15-17)

 NOW THERE IS A LESSON WE CAN LEARN FROM ALL OF THESE STORIES.

 From all of the above cases it does not show that God was not in every other place, for the Bible clearly teaches that God is everywhere. Rather God was teaching them to live in the consciousness of His presence. This has a way of building ones faith in God, and it also has a way of patterning ones way of living. Lost of the consciousness of God's presence permits fear, evil and sin in a man's life.

We observe that each time God appears by fire, smoke or through earthquake the people of Israel trembles. And this is what God want them to do and how He wants them to live their lives. He said to Abraham." Walk before me and be thou perfect" What here simply means is that Abraham should live his life with the consciousness that God is watching him.

When Joshua was approaching the wall of Jericho, the angel of the Lord appeared to him. If you observed you would notice that there was nothing that appears serious the Angel told Joshua. (Jos 5:13-15). I want to believe that God just wanted him to know that He was still with Him even as he was approaching Jericho. He wanted Joshua to be of good courage and without fear.

 When Jacob ran away from Leban his father in-law, angels met with him but they didn’t tell him any thing. What does that mean? (Gen 32:1-3) God simply wanted Jacob to know that He was with him

The consciousness of God’s abiding presence drives away fear from a child of God and builds faith instead. It makes one to walk boldly in any circumstances knowing that greater is He that is with him... See Ps. 91; 23;

This kind of life makes a whole lot of difference in ones life, both in his prayer life, worship, giving, and service, while at home, in public and in privacy.
