I have so many wonderful memories to carry me through, and some of those memories just bring a smile to my face.
I lost my best friend Melissa on Feb.09.2007, but I have so many wonderful memories to carry me through, and some of those memories just bring a smile to my face. My friend Fran took that Greyhound Bus with me back to Georgia to spend three weeks of the Summer of 02 with Melissa, where they got into the silliest argument I had ever heard, Melissa was telling her that she didn't have any toes, (She was a double amputee partial foot, and Left leg below the knee, but Fran could just not believe that she didn't have any toes, she thought because Melissa was walking, she had to have toes, finally when we got to Melissa's house, Melissa proved to her that she really didn't have any toes, it was a moment where we all laughed, I looked at Fran and said "Don't you think She'd Know?" Melissa was able to laugh at the quirky moments like that, she did not let herself fall into the constant trap of self pity, she had her moments, when I knew the pain was there, and we would talk, but she did not let her "disabilities" stop her from living the life, she felt God called her to live, and in her I found a woman who was full of courage.
