Media Announcement for Sisters in the Trades-Unite Now! (SITT-UN!) Revised 6-07-2008
This is a NEW women's group forming in Chicago/Midwest USA area. We encourage you to join Sisters in the Trades-Unite Now! Equality and Social Justice Networking group for union women.
We have started monthly meetings at the Unite Here! Building every first Thursday of the MONTH, you are all welcome to attend. Information will be posted under EVENTS on SITT-UN! Coalition of Labor Union Women has graciously given us access to their meeting hall and their resources.
We have many exciting events upcoming that union building trade sister groups can be involved with, including FUN STUFF like picnics, starting a bowling team, and many more things that you can think up. Or we can just announce your trade information and fun stuff...
Leadership classes are in the process of development and negotiation with other organizations to participate in the education of the union women in the building trades. The leadership classes will be called “You and Your Union.” First class will be held at the CWIT Workshop, Thursday, June 26, 2008. (Events is on the website SITT-UN!)
In addition, you and your sister trade group or union women’s group can go to our NEW WEBSITE right now! http://sistersinthetradesunitenow.ning.com to view our Mission Statement, Events for May/June 2008, Links to FUN STUFF, Women’s Shopping, Construction News, Political Action News, and much more.

I have included the Proposal to All Interested Union Trades Women and Organizations on the website. I intend to address this proposal at all meetings of Sisters in the Trades-Unite Now! and all other groups that request I speak at their meeting(s) or organizations.
We would be privileged to have you and the sisters join us at our both for Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW) and SITT-UN! at the carpenters Open House on Saturday, June 7, 2008. If you are interested, I will have a sign made up with your group’s name on it…call me.
