I wish to answer an AD author: Mr. Burton H Wolfe his "Obamas Stupendous Fraud" in 02.01.2008
An article that only lack that infamous burning cross in Mr. Obamas front yard.
Will throw my hat in that ring...
Mr. Barack Obama may or may not become the next President of the United States, but I don't think it is because he is black, or Irish American, or minority, or anything else. He is in the presidential race because every American can and should do it if they think that they can serve their country better than the GOP.
But, always it is a but somewhere, Mr. Obama is a very light-weight, his power base are non existent, just a lot of people with centuries of grievances and extremist preachers that say God wish they are driven in a unblemished new Cadillac.
Mr. Obama as President will have a hostile Congress which no President to this day's dato could Veto, Veto, Veto into submission.
The Congress, House of Representants, White House, Pentagon and everybody else holding the most minimal stick of power are OWNED by the Corporations.
You want the soldiers out of Iraq? tell that to the manufacturer that renew contracts with the Defense Department and Pentagon.
You want Universal Healt Care? tell that to the Pharmaceutical Consortiums and Billion Insurance Industry, which couldn't milk the American sick out of their last drop of blood.
You want Justice? tell that to the 100 Native American Nations that have been corraled with no dignity left to speak of.
You want CHANGE? so, don't go Obamas road, remember Dr. Martin Luther King, he also wanted change and got a bullet for his troubles.
If you want CHANGE, kick every one from Congress, the ones giving kickbacks (lobbyist) to the one taking it, forbid reelection and nepotism that had kept people around the corridors of the Hill for generations.
You want CHANGE? start using your brain!

|My knowledge of Barrack Obama began with his book, "Audacity of Hope." (I did a review of the book and posted it on AD as an article.) I've watched him closely since and have noted that his followers positive perception of him has an amazing power, almost viral, perhaps for the same reasons I find him attractive as a candidate. He is a quick study and seems to have political instincts that have largely stood him in good stead.
Those who ask what change Obama would make should read his second book for starters. Look, anyone who wins the Presidency is, almost by definition, a political animal, for whom promises are stock in trade. Out-promised, it seems, is out-voted. But I've seen a basic honesty and forthrightness in Obama that transcends that obligatory stance. Unfortunately we can't cobble an exact version of a candidate that we want, like some Frankenstein character. Any selection is a risk (our current President, for example), but for me, Obama exhibits instincts for staying on the high road. For that he deserves my support.

|Georg I agree with Ted on that last line, "You want CHANGE, etc." wouldn't it be something if we all woke up in the morning and discovered more people were using their brains. Oh well, you know me. In gratitude forever for caring and sharing. Mikii|

|Gotta love that last line - "You want CHANGE? start using your brain!" If our citizens started using their brains, they would stop electing predators at all levels. If they would begin using their brains, they would stop being a nation of followers. Oh, perish the thought! Another good wake-up call, Georg!!!

|That's a whole lot to accomplish with a pull-of-the-lever, but I wholeheartedly agree with what you're saying, Georg! Would any News Commentator make these statements? I think not, but they certainly would be doing the U.S. populace and voters a great service by doing so. "Change" is a snapppy slogan...but JUST WHAT changes can Obama guarantee us? I'll advocate putting a brain-wave test just outside the voters box...don't pass...can't vote!

Very sadly, I doubt we will see that happening any time soon in the once good old U.S. of A. Apathy among its citizens seems to now be the norm, and I believe our so called 'leaders' now truly thrive on this apathy - it allows them to do absolutely anything they desire.

|Congress consistently had a lower rating than the President yet we continue to keep these people in office. Out with the lot of them and stop pulling the lever on a party that has done nothing for you but kept you in bondage and them in office.|
