An old movie on TV prompts a string of memories from years gone by, neighborhood friends, a one-armed baseball player, and a recently adopted "cousin."

Excellent memoir! I must have been part of that group of "older kids" that Mrs. Wilson took to Shibe Park the day before, because I remember vividly seeing Pete Gray do his remarkable one-armed thing in the field -- and I think (but can't be certain) that he also got a hit that day as well. And Mrs. Wilson made the same comments to us about Gray's poor prospects for Big League longevity after the war.

What really surprised me was the info about "Cousin Ludwig". Interesting.
