Is this only an entertainment?
I am quite sure by now that most of the people of this world who have access have seen, or at least heard of, the new motion picture "Avatar". The story placed atop a platform of new technology is a story as old as the race of Man, the story of spiritual awakening and redemption. This new platform, however, is one that through its 3-D rendering is able to draw the viewer "into" the story, allowing him to join the experience in a way never before possible. At the conclusion of the film, watery-eyed and chest swelling, I rose with the rest of the audience to a standing ovation. I have since returned to witness it anew and trust that I will do so again.
The platform of our physical lives is one of Spirit, beckoning each of us toward the recognition of the unity of all things, the connectedness of life on the physical plane, the completeness available if one were only able to draw forth the will to embrace it. That is the "Avatar" depicted in a metaphorical telling that is at the heart of this amazing production, whose new technology has called upon a worldwide audience to witness almost as one, a story of unity that brings forth unity.
Your personal "Avatar" exists at the center of your being. Transcendence of the physical world is in no way required in order to find the inner reality. The physical world we inhabit proceeds from Spirit, so how would one be able to transcend Spirit? It is a simple matter of recognition, of stripping away the layers of experience that blurs reality and "seeing" the beauty that surrounds us, that is us. The only real requirement is the will to do so. Do you possess the will? Do you long for a more beautiful, redemptive world? Do you realize the "Avatar" within?
