We are living in fast paced world. Everyone is busy going to school, working on different jobs and finishing some stuff on the side. We all want things to be done as soon as we can.
“Every now and then, go away. Have a little relaxation, for when you come back to your work, your judgment will be surer. Go some distance away because then the work appears smaller and more of it can be taken in a glance and a lack of harmony and proportion is more readily seen."-Leonardo Da Vinci
Yes, we all need to do those things because that gives us the satisfaction that we all want but that doesn’t mean that we have to forget how important it is to pamper ourselves and just sit back even for some time.
Relaxing doesn’t mean doing nothing, it just mean doing less and giving yourself time to rest for a while. It doesn’t also mean being lazy but taking care of yourself. Thinking hard on how to do this? Here are some tips:
1. Take a nap- doing a lot of paper works and projects really gives a lot of stress. Most of the times, we can’t have the required 8 to 10 hours of sleeping. Taking a nap even if it is just on weekends or in between work can really help you think sharper.
2. Eat healthy foods- eating unhealthy foods in the fast foods is commonly a daily habit of those who are working and studying. They are always rushing and eating this kind of food is their solution. Taking some time to cook healthy meal at home will keep your body relaxed. Cook simple dishes with simple but healthy ingredients and share it with your family. Aside from relaxing, you will also have bonding time with them.
3.Have a long bath- having a long bath helps you feel relaxed. Take a hot bath in your jacuzzi and feel the water. You can also pull off your pool cover and use your pool. Better if you have a diving board installed in your pool area, you can invite some of your friends and have a simple pool party. That way, you can all forget the stressful works.
4. Smile and Laugh- these two things are what we often forgot when the work is in front of us. Try to talk with your classmates or officemates and crack some jokes once in a while and laugh. When mistakes or unexpected things happen, just smile. Everything will be fine. You’ll see, this will turn stress into something better.
5. Do less work- we always want to do so many stuffs. Sometimes, we even bring our works at home that causes less sleeping time. If we think that doing many things is being industrious, think again. You might forget to take care of yourself.
Do not abuse yourself. Relaxation is the key to a happier and healthier life!
