Secrets are not what you think they are. What are they? To humans they come as revelations...

By Ekong Usua
Do please answer this demanding question by writing it down on paper. Yes, I perceive that you have no writing material. Nevertheless, what is a secret? Now, with that answer you have thought off, put it aside and continue reading. Often times, children of God go through challenges, issues and problems which are so pitiful when mentioned. These things are many and varied but are they really secrets which bring untold misery or hassles? What really are secrets? Many people become engaged with official matters, so much so, that many people take “office matters” as paramount issues that control their lives. It’s true that we have to be serious with official matters but have you answered this question before; who gave you that job? For as many who do not have jobs or who want better jobs, your answers are important.

Now, do you know that a secret is not something that, “You don’t know?” To be more specific, not knowing in detail some or all the verses in the bible doesn’t make it a known secret when you eventually learn some verses? Even if you have known all the verses in the bible, that I say, are not secrets because they are open for all of us to read. Don’t be surprised by this answer. A secret comes from a divine revelation from God. They are issues which have a personal touché from, and of God. Remember, what happened to Jacob and Laban? Okay, let’s go to Genesis 30:32-31:3,11,12 where Jacob said; I will pass through all thy flock today, removing from thence all thy speckled and spotted cattle, and all the brown cattle among the sheep, and the spotted and speckled among the goats: and of such shall be my hire. So shall my righteousness answer for me in time to come, when it shall come for my hire before thy face: every one that is not speckled and spotted among the goats, and brown among the sheep, that shall be counted stolen with me…And the Lord said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee…And the angel of God spake unto me in a dream, saying, Jacob…lift up now thine eyes, and see, all the rams which leap upon the cattle are ringstaked, speckled, and grisled: for I have seen all that Laban doeth unto thee. Does your spirit minister something into you? How and why could Jacob foresee that? You will a recall that Jacob had fled from his brother Esau when this happened. How did Jacob know that until the goats and sheep gave birth to children that had no spots would he then know that he would inherit them? How would he inherit them when it was not so physically possible that goats and sheep would give birth to babies without spots? He didn’t know until a revelation through a dream was revealed to him from the throne room of grace. Again, no one at that time could at least foresee like Elijah in 1 Kings 17:1-23 What Elijah did was just plain “revelatory” gusto. In other word, a secret from God was made to him. However let’s see verses 2-5 of that Chapter, And the word of the Lord came to him saying…So he went and did according to the word of the Lord. That revelation of what he should do was directly from the throne room of grace. It was from the “heavenlies.” Remember, Elijah was a Prophet of God and he didn’t have any one ministering to him.

Deuteronomy 29: 29 makes it clear; “The secret things belong unto the Lord our God but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law. Yes, that secret was revealed to Jacob. A secret thing cannot be read in any book but can only be gotten by a divine revelation. There are things which I have discovered in the bible but honestly I came into realization that they were not secrets because they were open to me as I was born. Secrets are secrets because the only way they come are by revelations. In Psalm 25:14 the word of God says, The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant. Did it say the secret of man is with them that fear him…? Many times we often pray and pray about issues and challenges but have we ever wondered or asked why many of these things occur? When you pray and it occurs to you by way of revelations, in order words God will show you his covenant. If you ask for anything and God chooses to answer you then, He will answer you by way of revelations. How do revelations appear to us… in dreams and visions? Take an example; that of Solomon. In 2 Chronicles: 7-12; In that night did God appear unto Solomon and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee…wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like. That was a thing of the future...I will give the riches…and we read of the manifestation of the reality of the revelation which came in a dream. Going further we can understand the drift better by understanding with Daniel in his book. In Daniel 2:3,11,18,19,22 which says; And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream…And it is a rare thing that the king requireth…That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret…Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision..He revealed the deep and secret things…However, we may understand better by reading Daniel 2:27, 28, 29, 30 which states it clearly; Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, the secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king. But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy head...and he that reaveleth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass…But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living…In Amos 3:7 it becomes clear; Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. Romans 16:25 says. Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began. If we go back to Matthew 6:18 something pops up; That appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy father, which seeth in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly. It appears that we may now understand the differences between secrets and revelations. Secrets are known only by God. What we think are secrets are in the real sense, are not secrets but revelations because once they are known by discerning brothers and sisters, they are not secrets. Secrets down the human pathway become revelations. Remember what I earlier wrote? That Deuteronomy 29: 29 makes it clear; “The secret things belong unto the Lord our God but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law. Daniel 2:47 also clarifies the matter; The king answered unto Daniel , and said, of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret. This message is further mentioned in Amos 3:7; Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

My conclusion therefore stems from the irresistible, that secrets belong to God while what belong to us are revelations. We as human beings cannot claim to have secrets that are known only by you or by a few people. Do recall what happened in Ezekiel 11:1; Moreover the spirit lifted me up, and brought me into the eastward gate of the Lords house, which looketh eastward: and behold at the door of the gate five and twenty men; among whom I saw Ja-az-niah the son of Azur, and Pel-a-tiah the son of Be-aniah, prices of the people. Secrets belong to God otherwise what you think is a secret; the spirit will have cause to reveal it. Remember what Ephesians 5:13 says; But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light…
