An introduction to the Inner Space trilogy of Murder Mystery stories, what it's all about and why I hope you will find it different.

A Trilogy Is Born.

In my Inner Space books I set out to explore the powers of the human mind testing my long held belief that these mental abilities are within us all. However, perhaps through neglect or lack of use we have long since lost the ability or even the will to use such forces.

It is a subject that has long since fascinated me and I have read many books and articles on the topic viewing arguments both for and against the very existence of such things.

Of course when you start to take an interest in such matters as the Supernatural and the Paranormal these are subjects that make people look at you in strange ways wondering if they should belittle or deny the idea completely or confide in you their own thoughts or experiences.

Over the years I have received strong criticism of my theories, including dire warnings as to my ultimate fate if I continued with my un Godly pursuit of such powers which somehow put me in league with the Devil himself.

However I have also received great encouragement from many people who have had strange experiences the like of which they have been unable to rationally explain and not unnaturally this scares them.

My completely unscientific conclusion is this, there are just far too many unexplained supernatural and paranormal incidents happening to normal ordinary people to be ignored.

True there are many which one takes with an unhealthy dollop of salt and I’m sure many more are embellished with every telling, but surely the same thing can be said about many things from the growth of religion or the birth and survival of a dozen or more conspiracy theories.

I have no scientific background and really didn’t want to get into any serious arguments over the validity of my thoughts and theories especially with people with axes to grind or whose standing in the science community was somehow threatened by my whacky ideas. So I chose the world of fiction as a harmless playground for my paranormal theories.

In Inner Space I have created a trilogy of Murder Mystery stories that at first gently explores and explains some of my theories to a sceptical mind in the form of my central character, police Detective Inspector Nick Burton.

DI Burton is no super hero, rather the opposite is true in fact, extremely normal and perhaps to start with a little dull. At 45 his life is in a deep rut and he is just coasting along as life takes him.

If he were ever asked if he believed in the paranormal or supernatural he would probably laugh with a shake of his head. As an explanation for a crime he most certainly would not.

So when his boss, Chief Superintendant Dan Davies is arrested for murder he is determined to prove his friend and mentor innocence. Matters take a turn for the worse when Dan dies while in police custody. Now Nick is convinced there is some sort of conspiracy and cover up going on and is determined to get to the truth of the matter.

He is nowhere near ready for where his investigations take him, what he discovers along the way takes way beyond his natural comfort zone and challenges everything he once took for granted.

The Inner Space I take you to is the dark inner space of your mind, our mind and the hidden powers locked deep inside. Nick Burton meets people who can unlock those powers.

Through Nick’s cynical policeman’s eyes, these are naive university academics who have no idea how harmful such knowledge and power could be in the wrong hands. Question is, is it too late to get them to stop what they are doing
