This fourth essay in the sequence 'Alchemy and the Imagination' by Dr. Ian Irvine looks at 'alchemical' and 'Hermesian' aspects to: 1) Derrida's 'deconstructionist' thinking and, 2) the advent of a global digital/internet writing culture. The article concludes by offering a tentative list of features associated with a new contemporary 'poetics' of use to creative people and students of cultural change.
