will be interesting.

For the last two years, President Obama consistently reached out to Republicans in Congress in hopes that they would work with him to resolve the important issues facing America.  For the last two years, Republicans consistently rejected President Obama’s attempts at bi-partisanship.  Instead, Republicans went out of their way in order to try and destroy the Obama presidency.  This resulted in their party being appropriately named “The Party of No”.

The day after the Nov 2nd elections, President Obama continued to express his sincere desire to work with Republicans, most notably, on creating American jobs and improving the U.S. Economy.

With Republicans now in control of the House, they can no longer make excuses, they can no longer blame everything on the Democrats … it behooves them to get to work.  They have two choices as to how they will govern:
1) Republicans can abandon their partisan political posturing and work with the President and the Democrats in Congress in order to accomplish some good things for America over the next two years.
2) Republicans can continue to refuse to work for the good of the country by putting their political party ambitions ahead of all else.

I am hoping that Republican politicians will choose the former approach but I am afraid that they will choose the latter and here’s why:
If Republicans actually work to create jobs and improve the economy, then President Obama will stand a good chance for re-election in 2012.  I hope I’m wrong but I suspect their goal of electing a Republican President in 2012 will continue to be more important to them than what’s good for the country.  They may be more willing to sacrifice the country in order to re-gain the presidency.  Over the next two years, the true colours of the Republican party will become very clear … will they be strictly Red or will they be Red, White & Blue?

They don't care about the good of the country, special interests are their interest. Pres Obama had better get tough and not be afraid to step on toes or kick asses because he can't expect any cooperation from Republicans. What kind of idiots would want to privatize social security? If they had done it during the Bush years, as they tried, there would no be no social security and thousands of elderly Americans would be penniless and homeless. And why are they so pushy about extending the tax cuts to the wealthy when that money is needed for the continuation of our government? It's because they care about the rich, not the middle class or the poor. They've already stated that their main objective is to make sure Pres. Obama is a one term president. Is he crazy enough to think they will work with him on ANYTHING? Frankly I'm sick of this political partisan crap continuing while we watch the American Dream go down the drain and the ones who are killing it are blaming our President.
