Most of us engaged in private music teaching have wondered from time to time why we don't command the respect we deserve as professionals. Perhaps our home studio fosters a breach of boundaries by its informality.

A Piano World poster asserted that some of his colleagues are to blame for the perception that we are hobbyists.

The arguments abound without total resolution of the issue....
