I suggest that black notes with letter names are barred, imprisoned and awaiting parole for too long in standard published piano teaching materials. So it's time to unshackle ourselves, and emancipate our students. That goes for improvising, composing, and breaking time honored schedules of learning in the Every Child is Left Behind status quo, musical curriculum.
The sky's the limit, and Method Books need modification and supplementation if we are to live with them.
