Don't Patronize Stores Selling Puppies

Puppy Mills are truly atrocious businesses, where far too many breeder dogs today (both male and female) are still being kept in truly atrocious conditions. Most of these dogs live in confined squalor their entire lives unless they are lucky enough to be rescued.
And according to a newly released poll, nearly 80 percent of consumers would not purchase a puppy if they knew he or she came from a puppy mill. But this poll also revealed that 78 percent of consumers are still unaware that most puppies sold in pet stores today come from these puppy mills.
“The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA)’s research shows that people know that puppy mills are bad, but they don’t realize that most pet store puppies do come from puppy mills,” says Matt Bershadker, ASPCA Anti-Cruelty Group Senior Vice President.
The goal of ‘No Pet Store Puppies’ is to highlight this direct connection between puppy mills and the puppies sold in pet stores. And, it’s not enough to refuse to buy a dog from a pet store—the ASPCA is asking you to not give these stores any of your business at all. By purchasing anything—including food, supplies, or toys—from a store that sells puppies, you are supporting a business that, in turn, supports the extremely cruel puppy mill industry.
Please visit NoPetStorePuppies.com and take the pledge to not shop for anything at pet stores if they continue to sell puppies. This new site also hosts a blog, general information about puppy mills, and the first in a series of videos starring their mascot, Larry the Dog. I'd love to see them all shut down!!! Prospering off the misery of precious, innocent little animals is completely disgusting! I don't shop at such places... Thanks for putting this out there, Ed!
