Excerpts from the chapter, "Out of My Mind" in Love's True Home

A few like to lead, but most like to follow.

Many seek things that are empty and hollow.

The circle expands as the lies keep on growing.

One hell of a party, the clever mind’s throwing.

Most things that we know

aren't even worth knowing,

it's all pomp, and glamour,

wicked lies mind is throwing.

The ego's all shiny,

all sparkly, and bright

as it spews forth sweet lies,

turning day into night.

The bigger the better,

no losing, just win,

we must have it all,

there's no thought about sin,

as we dig ourselves deeper,

and forget who we are,

beautiful, perfect, inimitable star.

Cultured and polished,

so suave, and debonair,

you stand amidst a cyclone,

moving not a hair.

You’re quite the handsome fellow,

your lips a wicked leer,

you strike me with your dagger eyes,

and inject me with your fear.

I’ve finally moved beyond you, mind,

to a heaven high above,

far from this dome that you call home,

a prison without love.

It’s a phony kind of egg-stacy, living deep within your shell.

I don’t know why you do it mind, turning heaven into hell.

You’re tricky, and I don’t trust you;

I’m a love cop, and I’ll bust you.

Many worship,

and praise the mind,

and consider it to be sublime.

From my perspective,

it’s more of a crime,

and closer to being sub lemon.

An angry mind is a dark syringe,

It poisons the heart,

and makes soul cringe.

It injects us with fear,

and fills us with doubt,

Preventing sweet love from cascading out.

Details are for microscopes,

distances for telescopes,

murky depths for periscopes,

and promises for broken hopes.

They’re all mind’s lies for human dopes,

so throw away that useless rope.

Open up your heart to God,

and let spirit’s river flow.

Love is what you are, sweet soul,

this is all you need to know.

Hey mind!

I know you love to calculate, postulate, and extrapolate,

Measure this, measure that, king of chaos, you’re such a brat.

You deserve a real good whack, and with my heart, I’ll do it:

I’ll pour my love all over you and laugh as you pass through it.

I don’t know what it is about you, mind.

Sometimes you’re quite obscene.

As I bathe in love’s sweet nectar,

you toss pickles in my cream.

study the mind,

develop the mind,

dissect the mind,

free the mind,

worship the mind,

what's mine is mind,

what’s yours is mind,

too much mind all of the time,

I'm goin' outta my mind,

and leaping out of this slime,

into spiritual worlds,

so sweet and sublime…

Oh, how divine!
