Nailbiting? Not really...but Patricia Cornwell's novel "The Scarpetta Factor" still delivers as promised with the brilliance Corwell always provides.

Classic intertwining plot with a "who done-it" finish as is customary for the amazing Patricia Cornwell. I'm hooked on the series surrounding heroine, Kay Scarpetta and have read almost every book produced by Patricia Cornwell. However this book seemed to have filler uncustomary for Cornwell which made it a little more tedious read than typical for the pace of her novels. It appeared, from this reader's perspective, that Cornwell wrote to fill a quota of pages for the novel versus filling the plot with juicy tidbits and hints for what comes next, as is the usual style for Corwell's writing.

Still, the classic encounters Kay Scarpetta et al meet in morgue keep anyone venturing into the book turning pages. Always around the corner is the next "teaser" as the reader is certain he has figured it out only to find another surprise waiting at the end of the chapter.

I will almost always recommend Patricia Cornwell's books to anyone who loves a good action/adventure mystery filled with a hearty CSI flavor. This book is no exception. I urge all Cornwell fans to read and enjoy another adventure with Kay Scarpetta, Marino and Lucy as they team up together to solve another mystery with "The Scarpetta Factor".
