Understanding Doublethink and Its Application in our society
The denizens of our society have been conditioned to use doublethink and crime-stop in nearly ever aspect of our lives. From politics, to religion, and our ever day life, it has permeated everything in our world, both the inner and outer ones.
There are at least two major issues with using double-think, first is the brain washing that has been happening to each of us since birth, by outside elements such as the education system, the media, political figures, etc. Second is the intellectual, moral stunting that occurs when we dupe ourselves with doublethink, or limit our ability to think through moral problems.
In this chapter we will explore the ideas of doublethink, crime-stop, thought crime, what they are and
how they are used against us, through their various applications.
The labyrinthine world of doublethink "is to know and not to know, to be conscious of complete truthfulness while telling carefully constructed lies, to hold simultaneously two opinions which cancel each other out, knowing them to be contradictory and believing in both of them, to use logic against logic, to repudiate morality while laying claim to it, to believe that democracy was impossible and that the Party was the guardian of democracy, to forget, whatever it was necessary to forget, then to draw it back into memory again at the moment when it was needed, and then promptly to forget it again, and above all, to apply the same process to the process itself — that was the ultimate subtlety: consciously to induce unconsciousness, and then, once again, to become unconscious of the act of hypnosis you had just performed. Even to understand the word "doublethink" involved the use of doublethink," Eric Blair.
Doublethink - is the core principia of mind control in the society of the "New World Order.” Indispensable in politics, news media, law, morality, religion, and so on and on, it has permeated every aspect of our lives.
It is the mental exercise of holding two or more contradictory thoughts/beliefs at the same time. Knowing that one or more of them must be untrue , yet holding them all to be true when it is convenient for each to be so, while denying that it is so.
This thinking obliterates every aspect of tangible reality, utterly destroying objectiveness by claiming that everything subjective, while holding that we are indeed being objective in our observations.
It uses Logic to fight logic even within ones own mind; this would seam to create a sense of insanity by its very nature, as the mind rips itself apart trying to balance what is; with what you tell it, must be.
It would cause one to blur the worlds of fantasy and reality, but even as this realization is made, one would have used double think to forget that he/she used doublethink to begin with.
In order to master this way of thinking one must also master the art of "crime-stop." Which is the instinctual ability of stopping short of having any dangerous thoughts.
This includes the power of not grasping analogies, other symbolic lines of thought. Failing to perceive logical errors, misunderstanding even simplistic arguments if they are in opposition to the ideas and moral beliefs of the administration in power (which is always the same administration, under a different name but the same administration none the less), or those of commune (society) at large. "In short.... Protective stupidity."
Failure to stop short of thoughts not in line with the current way of thinking in our society is called conspiracy, and is covered under criminal law (such as conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to distribute "illegal" drugs, conspiracy to aid "terrorists," and so on).
In essence creating a form of thought police. "All crimes begin with a thought. So, if you control thought, you can control crime. "Thought crime is death. Thought crime does not entail death, Thought crime is death.... The essential crime that contains all others in itself."
The concept of doublethink is not just about the political elite telling lies, but their ability to believe those lies, while at the same time not believing them and changing them at a moments notice. The point of all of this doublethink is to establish a firm control over the minds and hearts of the American people and the people of the world at large.
In so, giving legitimacy to the administration in power and the various endless wars, even if they may clearly lack any real legitimacy at all.
Some examples of this doublethink are found in "the war on illiteracy," "the war on poverty," "the cold war," "the war on drugs," finally the largest and most open of the endless wars, "the war on terrorism." What makes all of these "wars" the same is that with each one, what they purported to fight, always gets worse.
During the making of Alex Jones' Terror Storm, A History of Government Sponsored Terrorism, Alex Jones interviewed random individuals on the street about what they thought about the war on terrorism and government sponsored terrorism prior to 9/11. "The amount of people that responded instinctively with classic doublethink-style logic is positively alarming," Alex Jones said.
One woman interviewed gave the most disturbing examples of doublethink and crime-stop I've ever heard. The woman, who believed "we should give up our liberty for freedom", was seemingly unaware that they were both the same thing!
With Laws being passed through congress such as "The Patriot Act (which is an act of double think, because to abide by this act requires an act of treason against the people of America)," "The Victory Act," the idea of giving up our liberties to fight for freedom against terrorist is clearly an act of double think.
As is labeling people who discuss the constitution as domestic terrorist (criminal), which the patriot Act calls for.
Here are some more examples of the use of doublethink taken both from, "1984" and from our society. The Statement "Fighting for Peace," is positively absurd, obviously fighting is the very think that prevents peace, yet you will here members of congress, the media, and the public use this statement often without noticing the direct contradictions inherent.
Along those same lines is the term peacekeeping forces which is all so an example of newspeak in or society. By its definition it is a contradictory statement. Which is a military force left in a country to enforce a particular government's reign, which would indicate that there is no peace to be kept. In point of fact a "peacekeeping force's presence is to keep the people from speaking out or to crush any possible rebellion of the status quo.” said unknown author
(Newspeak - The official language of Oceania.
Newspeak is "politically correct" speech taken to its maximum extent. Newspeak is based on Standard English, but all words describing "unorthodox" political ideas have been removed.
In addition, there was an attempt to remove the overall number of words in general, to limit the range of ideas that could be expressed.)
The Department of Defense bares a striking resemblance to the "Ministry of Peace" in Orwell's, 1984. This brings to bare not only the use of doublethink in its name but also in its purpose. Which concerns itself not with defense, as implied, but wars of aggression and invasions of sovereign nations, such as Vietnam, the first Iraqi War, Afghanistan, the second Iraqi War, the war on terrorism, and the coming war with Iran.
Often using false pretenses such as the Gulf of Tonkin incident, pearl harbor, etc, etc.
As far as I'm aware the is no religion that promotes violence or killing of any sort, this includes Christianity, and Islam so logically we could assume that the term "Holy War" is at immediate contradiction with its self.
With this as the basis for our understanding of the society we have developed its similarities with the novel "1984" by Eric Blair (George Orwell). The Use of doublethink, Crime-stop, Newspeak in our society we can really begin to explore the negative Utopia as it relates to our society.
The only way to deal with the issue of doublethink and the subsequent Idea of thought crimes is to become aware that these forms of brainwashing are used against us, then attack it at its source.
By revamping the education system and revitalizing the family as the center of a child's academic and moral education. We have to teach our children to think for themselves, which is a concept that is sorely lacking in the current education system.
