The awakening of the Believer.

                                                                      Awaken to Arise

One of the things that I love about the Lord is that He knows every aspect of those that are His. Because He is the one who formed and uniquely designed our personality. As for me, He knows that He can release a word that twill send me on a search for the treasure that is within.

Recently I was in a service where a man of God spoke about the two recorded times that Jesus spoke in a heavenly language while upon the earth. Some may say that these two instances were not translated because they were in the ancient language of Aramaic. But instantly I knew where the words were and was completely focused on “Talitha cumi.” (Mark 5:41). I began to meditate on the translation which is ‘Damsel arise.”

These words are recorded in the story of Jairus’ daughter, who Jesus raised from the dead. Even as the woman with the issue of blood delayed Jesus to stretch her faith through the crowd, Jairus had to not only keep his faith while dealing with the earthly element of time, but stretch His faith into to the eternal realm for a mighty miracle. Upon hearing the news from the servants concerning the daughter’s status, Jesus spoke to counteract the words in the atmosphere before they could find a place in Jairus’ heart. “Be not afraid only believe.” (Mark 5:36). The beginning Word, the Word that was with God and is God, the Word that became flesh, the living Word, speaking into the thing that He created by speaking a word!

Arriving at Jairus’ home, Jesus put everybody with doubt and unbelief out except the parents, and His disciples Peter, James, and John. Actually Jesus told them that “the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.” (Mark 5:39). The others did not spiritually qualify to experience the miracle that was to be performed.

After a few days of meditating on this, I had an experience that I have never had before. I rarely share my experiences directly in my writing, but this one continues to keep me intrigued and searching as other revelations come forth. Early one morning I was awakened out of my sleep, by the Spirit calling my name. I knew who it was – ‘my sheep know my voice.’  Getting up, I was in total awe. See, I was not called by the name that you see, which by the way is my nickname. I was called by my real name which those who know me, is biblical. I know that He knows my name, but He has never called me that way before.

Still in meditation on the passage and combined with my experience, I continue to seek the Lord for more revelation, especially because of the critical time that we live in. The first thing that is obvious to me is that Jarius’ daughter is a representation of the Body of Christ, who is asleep. Many things that are happening in our society are increasingly contrary to the Word and will of God. “But make sure that you don't get so absorbed and exhausted in taking care of all your day-by-day obligations that you lose track of the time and doze off, oblivious to God. The night is about over, dawn is about to break. Be up and awake to what God is doing! God is putting the finishing touches on the salvation work he began when we first believed. We can't afford to waste a minute, must not squander these precious daylight hours in frivolity and indulgence, in sleeping around and dissipation, in bickering and grabbing everything in sight. Get out of bed and get dressed! Don't loiter and linger, waiting until the very last minute. Dress yourselves in Christ, and be up and about!” (Romans 13:11-14 The Message).

Where is the hope of glory? The hope of glory is Christ in us through the experience of being born again from above. Our spirits have been renewed, but our minds are still connected to the existing world system, which is that we have been exposed to before the new birth. As we strive to renew our minds to have the mind of Christ, a mind that is anointed to receive the mysteries that can be deposited, we must know that the King lives within us. Now why dost thou cry out aloud? Is there no king in thee? Is thy counsellor perished? for pangs have taken thee as a woman in travail.” (Micah 4:9 KJV). We are crying out for deliverance and move of God in many situations, but we are sitting and sleeping through the situation.

Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.” (Psalm 68:1 KJV). There is a tendency to quote the first part of this scripture in the midst of confrontation during spiritual warfare. Who is holding Him down? Is it the Body of Christ, the church, who has become Laodicean in nature and lukewarm in its stand against anything? Where is the church that has the power and demonstration with signs, wonders, and miracles? Has our witness become so contaminated that it is illegal to the point that the enemy knows that it is and thee is no power in us?

In recent events, the enemy has made a move that has brought a conflict directly in your face to the Body of Christ. “The world is full of so-called prayer warriors who are prayer-ignorant. They're full of formulas and programs and advice, peddling techniques for getting what you want from God. Don't fall for that nonsense.” (Matthew 6:7-9 The Message). Will we violently pray “Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” or yield to the flesh of compromise? (Matthew 6:10 AMP).

As His ambassadors, His agents on the earth, when you know and understand His agenda, you will have His backing from the Throne Room. Will the tares turn and cast the wheat into the furnace to be burned when the fields are ripe for harvest?

“For you are all sons of light and sons of the day; we do not belong either to the night or to darkness. Accordingly then, let us not sleep, as the rest do, but let us keep wide awake, alert, watchful, cautious, and on our guard and let us be sober, calm, collected, and circumspect. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who are drunk, get drunk at night. But we belong to the day; therefore, let us be sober and put on the breastplate, corslet of faith and love and for a helmet the hope of salvation.”

(I Thessalonians 5:5-8).
