The last three days have been unusual for us. Ellen went to her first Junior/Young Rider clinic where she was able to meet other young equestrians so I cared for Maxx.

  Maxx was trained one day this week practicing flying changes....I remember when he dragged his left hindleg down the aisle to be pressure hosed. I had never seen such sadness in his eyes. Some days were so slow and painful for him. Each day now when I watch him move I'm startled at the strength he has gained. His lateral movements are wonderfully graceful. I love to watch those long Thoroughbred legs crossing as he glides across the arena.

  As Maxx was working and playing, Ellen had a problem at the clinic. The young ladies were grooming horses to learn to drive carts when Ellen was kicked in the chest and in the hip by one of the Halflingers. After tests at the ER she returned home with a hoof print and bruises and thankfully nothing more. The clinic was over all a fun experience and she met other young riders. Today she gets to ride Maxx, however lightly depending on how she feels. I think she is glad to get back to Maxx and I know he is waiting for her.
