The Gift of Inner Healing

MAGIC OF LOVE AND INTIMACY
It is one thing to fall in love, another to be in love and still another to stay in love. Love grows and deepens if we allow it. It blossoms like a flower and leaves a fragrance to smell in your heart and feelings. Love shares everything and hides nothing. It reveals all the blemishes and seeks to heal them. It keeps you vulnerable and naked and warm inside. It flows between two people and reveals the deep communion shared by all existence.
To be in love is to be alive to everything and each other with a sensitivity that is light and healing. I am often amazed at those moments of realization between me and Cathy at how deep and far reaching the love is between us. I never thought love could be this good or reveal this much.
Love to me was a thing. Something that you need to find and get. Not something that you need to already have and want to share. I was like most people or more specifically most men that feel that love owes them or that life owes them. Life does not owe us anything. It already gave us the gift of life and the freedom to discover what that means. We have to discover, explore and give all that we are if we are to know love and search its depth. We have to let go of the fear and the small "I" to realize a communion with the "AM" of existence. It is no coincidence that we feel better when we give of ourselves to others. Those selfless moments open the heart and connect us with others. The depth of that connection depends on the level of intimacy and vulnerability present.
Vulnerability may be a sign to the mind and ego of unworthiness, but to the heart it is a door to inner healing and surrender to those parts of you most able to renew and heal you. Inner healing is called inner healing because it is inner. Outer healing is a byproduct of the power of the inner to heal the body and mind, but true inner healing puts us back in wholeness with life. It fills the gap that the mind creates and completes the circle of existence. Today is Cathy's birthday and I wanted to surprise her and honor her for coming into my life and becoming such a gift of inner healing to me.
