Sunday's Child Hits make it a Hit? 11/24/2008 8:21:09 AM while posting my short poems about "childhood" from chapter one of my 1988 book: "Childhood to Childhood" over the last weeks I posted one called "Sunday's Child" It has received over 350 hits in just two weeks! while normally a poem of mine gets maybe 50-100. I'm wondering Why? For example the first poem from this series: "Greeting the World" which I actually think is a better poem was well reviewed and my AD writer friends liked it. But, it has received in 4 weeks time about 137 hits on my stats file.
Then the week after, I posted "Sunday's Child" - it now has 340+ hits. More hits than some of my best song lyrics that have been on my site for over a year.
So anybody have any ideas what it is. Is it Google's search engine or is it just that the poem screams that it is related to the famous popular, "nursery rhyme"
I feel as though, maybe I should have pulled a "Jethro Tull" type thing and turned it into a macabre and distorted version of the old rhyme, but I didn't - after all, with so much unrecognized music, I could use the publicity!
Any ideas from you AD writers on why I'm getting so many hits in a short time are welcome. Then perhaps I can apply that principle to publicizing my CD, which is what I really want to promote and where my greatest talent is...
Perhaps, people think, "SUNDAY'S CHILD" is a new girlie rock band!? Maybe it is... I'm sort of cut off out here!
