The Wall Street Occupiers Thrust 3/1/2010 12:32:23 PM Have the thousands of protesters across this country got a message to convey? Could it be that the financial movers and shakers of Wall Street are considering only the bottom line...not the impact of their greed on the middle class. Is Wall Street an entwined entity that's part of a FINANCIAL GOVERNMENT COMPLEX? Perhaps that bottom line result as stressed at Harvard Business School and like institutions transcends any attempt at teaching business ethics. I can picture the lecture room at the "B" School being empty during a lecture on ethics and the "B" School attendees inhabiting their favorite pub in Harvard Square. Recent events have shown that these Wall Street movers and shakers have influential lobbyism ties with those in our government that have the responsibility of being their watch dogs. They are determined to inflate their bottom line with no concern toward the good of the country. They've put profit ahead of concern for their fellow man. They've been bailed out in hours by our government, while the small community banks have been waiting for ten months for the Federal Reserve to release nine billion in funds tobe used as loans to small businesses. The argument and protest by those occupying Wall Street is not based on a capitalist system that we all love and agree with it has to do with that system going out of control and those in our government with the responsibility to rein them in not doings so. Is it business as usual?...A determined thrust toward the bottom line without any humane consideration. The incentive could be the large Wall Street bonuses for obtaining a great bottom line. Perhaps it's these Wall Street incentives that are the root cause of the grief that many people suffer...and that just might be the message that those thousands of Wall Street Occupiers are trying to convey...along with their angst about a government that can not or will not control them. Perhaps we should all respect that message.
