The challenge of poetry still excites me.
Poets will happen in the best of families.
I was the dreamer in my family from early childhood on. Mother said she always worried when her other three children were quiet. It usually meant they were up to no good. When I was quiet she knew I was behind the high-backed chair in the living room either reading or writing. Didn't matter to her which I was doing so long as I was occupied.
Thank goodness she left me there alone in my little world to explore, to drift, to become.
Now I sit in a favorite chair with pen, gel pen 'cause it flows across the page, in hand exploring, drifting, becoming. Thanks Mom.
