The meaning of certainty

SURE AS DAY AND N IGHT

                                  Charlie's always sure of things

                                  especially when asking for money.

                                  "Hey, you'll get it back

                                  sure as day and night."

"Charlie, I've been to Alaska in

                                   June and saw only day

                                   then went back in January

                                   and saw only night."

I never called Charlie a liar,

but its hard feeling sure of anything

in the sun shining at midnight.

Yes...I think many of us have been here, and had our fingers burned!
I like the clever way you have worded this...
Best wishes,

Very entertaining play on words, as well as giving some of us much to ponder in the irony of the philosophical overtones.

Sounds like you don't trust Charlie! A cute poem, that's for sure.

Cleverly expressed to make a point; well done, Bennett. Love and peace to you,

Interesting, fun-to-read poem! How about Winter in March? That's what we have here in PA, where we are IMpatiently waiting for Spring to appear.

Once I lend $500.00 to whom I thought was a good friend, but after I lent him the money all he ever wanted to do was to distant himself from me. Something tells me that if we really want a good friend to stick around then don't lend any money out. (I hate to say it, but it seems true). LOL!!!!

Great write Ben! Yes, I know a Charlie too and he sounds like the guy you once knew.
