YOU TRIED
You tried… on September 11th two human bombs pierced our New York skies
With no regard for life, love or loud cries
You hijacked our jets while interfering with America’s peace
Passengers pleaded with you to stop, abandon your evil mission and cease
Meanwhile, your cohorts targeted our Pentagon with great speed
Again using our citizens and airplanes to accomplish your reprehensible deed
Yes you completed your assigned mission in no time at all
But keep in mind America is still standing tall
Next you attempted to annihilate another precious American site
No more… the passengers said, they were tired of your sick plight
They fought for this country aboard the #93
To save more lives and keep America free… you tried
You followed your lead terrorist’s plot to destroy our land
You continued to pursue your dastardly plan
Determined to bring Americans to strife
You really wanted to rid us of our freedom and beautiful way of life…you tried
With great precision and defiance in less than an hour
You shattered thousands of lives, destroyed part of our Pentagon and our twin towers
Although you ignored appeals for everyone aboard that fateful day
Make no mistake you didn’t demolish our liberty or right to pray…you tried
We know that you have no concept of what it means to be free
Free to choose your leaders, to speak your minds and to control your destiny
America will continue to celebrate its independent way
In this country terrorism does not pay…you tried
We, in America and countries within the free world
Have heard your nation cries to be liberated with voices unfurl
We pray that one day you will see the light and take a stand
Only then will you find a way to heal your land
You tried… but we, the American citizens, wish you future peace, unity and love
You must answer to a Supreme Being from above
Your evil assault only brought us closer together
Remember, HE is still in control and awaits our arrival in Heaven
You tried… America will survive!

During and after 9-11-01 attack on our country, I felt so many emotions, i.e. surprise, disbelief, sadness and finally, anger. I controlled these feelings by grabbing a pen and paper. This is my method of clearing my heart, soul and mind. After a year, I have decided to share my 9-11 poem with the public. Hope you enjoy reading it. Your feedback/review will be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
